Description
The Tideflex® TFO Flow Restrictor Valve is an elastomeric, variable-orifice device engineered to create backpressure and reduce or eliminate cavitation in control valve systems. Designed for use in both clean water and highly abrasive slurry applications, the TFO delivers superior flow control performance compared to traditional orifice plates and other fixed-flow restriction devices.
Ideal for applications where flow discharges to atmosphere, the TFO can be installed either in-line or at the discharge end of a pipeline. Its flexible, variable-orifice design automatically adjusts to changing flow conditions, producing a more linear head loss characteristic than fixed orifice devices. This enables the valve to generate greater backpressure at lower flow rates, helping protect control valves from cavitation across a wider operating range.
The TFO Flow Restrictor Valve features a molded orifice in the center of the valve bill, allowing very low flows to pass while also enabling pipeline drainage when the system is taken out of service. The result is reliable performance, improved system protection, and reduced maintenance requirements in demanding operating environments.
